「Frontiers and perspectives of sentinel lymph node mapping for cancer therapy」

要旨：Summary: Cancer metastases usually form first in the nearest lymph node to the
primary tumour, before spreading unpredictably to establish secondary sites in the body. This ‘sentinel’ lymph node is therefore a very important indicator of whether or not cancer has spread in a patient. In this talk we will discuss current methods for identifying and examining this node, and the implications this has for cancer therapies and improved survival rates.

「臨床医からのセンチネルリンパ節診断と抗がんハイパーサーミアへの期待」
上田　政和　氏［慶応義塾大学　医学部外科学］
要旨：センチネルリンパ節転移の有無を明らかにして、手術法を決定することは、がん治療成績を低下させずQuality of lifeの向上や早期社会復帰を実現するには必要不可欠である。しかし現在のセンチネルリンパ節同定法には、法規制、被爆の問題、診断の不確実性など多くの問題点を抱えており、ブレイクスルーが求められている。また、センチネルリンパ節は最も転移が生じやすいリンパ節であることから、診断のみでなく確実な治療法が開発されれば、より低侵襲で副作用の少ない方法へと発展が期待される。
