The 218th Topical Symposium of the Magnetic Society of Japan

Future and Challenges of Material for Magnetic Recording

Magnetic recording has been an active area of research. HDDs and tape drives, which sustain present IT society owing to the large data capacity, continue to increase the recording density, and MRAM attracts attention as a non-volatile solid-state memory. In addition, new magnetic materials and magnetic phenomena such as domain wall motion and all-optical switching have been explored for recording application. In this topical symposium, we invite seven outstanding researchers in this research field. We look forward to your participation.
