The 228th Topical Symposium of the Magnetics Society of Japan
Non-Destructive Inspection Using Magnetic Measurement and Application to Infrastructure Diagnosis
The infrastructure facilities that were constructed during the economic growth—namely around the previous Tokyo Olympics in 1964—are turning 50 years old, and their aging is becoming a problem. The difficulty lies in the fact that the damage varies depending on the cases because every facility was custom-built and has been used in a different environment. Thus, accurate diagnosis of damage is crucial for efficient maintenance of the facilities that realizes both safety and long-life usage. As a method of non-destructive inspection, magnetic measurement has been explored because steel, which is a magnetic material, is used in most of the facilities. In this topical symposium, we invite five researchers engaged in non-destructive inspection using magnetic measurement. We look forward to your participation.
