The 201st Topical Symposium of the Magnetic Society of Japan/The 53rd Topical Symposium on Spin-electronics
Understanding and application of spin transport phenomena using spin current
In recent years, the discovery of the spin injection magnetization reversal, spin Hall effect, and inverse spin Hall effect has accelerated application and detection techniques of “spin current”. In addition, newly proposed kinetic and optical detection techniques of spin current made it possible to understand the physical mechanism of the spin transport phenomena observed in various experimental systems. Nowadays, possibility of conversion between pure spin current and charge current, and understanding of the relationship between spin current and spin-orbit interaction are hotly debated. In this symposium, the basic theory of spin current, its behavior in solids, latest spin current research trends, and applied researches for the future applications will be introduced. We invite five outstanding lecturers who are engaged in spin current and spintronics researches. We welcome the participation of all of you.
