The 146th Topical Symposium of the Magnetic Society of Japan
Fundamental and Recent Progress of L10 Ordered Magnetic Alloys
Recently, L10-type FePt and CoPt ordered magnetic alloys are attracting much attention as “high anisotropy nano-magnetic materials” and their applications are expected in magnetic recording materials and thin film magnets. Historically, these materials were discovered as permanent magnets in the 1930s, and various aspects, i.e. magnetism, magneto-optical properties, ordering transformation, and microstructures, have been studied, which lead to the basis of today’s research and development for the advanced magnetic materials. In this symposium, we have invited active authorities in such fundamental fields and will discuss their potential applications based on the particular properties of the L10-type ordered alloys. We very much look forward to your participation.
