The 143st Topical Symposium of the Magnetics Society of Japan

Technologies for Development of High Performance Electric Motors and their Applications

In recent years, demands for high efficiency and performance of electric motors become higher for an environmental problem, an electric vehicle, and a high precision fabrication, and so on. In order to develop high performance motors, magnetic materials such as an iron core and a permanent magnet, and numerical techniques for design have been remarkably progressed, and high performance motors have been realized.
In this symposium, the recent topics on technologies for development of high performance electric motors and their applications are presented by solicited speakers. Namely, the recent trends of magnetic materials and numerical techniques are explained. Moreover, the high performance motors used in industrial machines and the electric vehicle with the maximum speed over 300 km/h are introduced. This symposium invites participation and active discussion by researchers, engineers, and students who are interested in this field.
